• What is Dehydration?

• Mild to moderate dehydration is defined as the loss of 2-6% of your body weight through fluids.
• 75% of people are dehydrated everyday from losing water and electrolytes through sweat, saliva, urine and other bodily functions.
• Water doesn't contain electrolytes which is why dehydration is so common.
• How does an ORS solution work?
• ORS contains specific amounts of glucose and electrolytes.
• These components maximize fluid absorption in the gastrointestinal tract.
• The gastrointestinal tract relies on sodium-glucose cotransporters (SGLTs), which are carrier proteins in the intestinal cells.
• Cotransporters help move substances across membranes.

How To Use:

• Fill cup with 200mL of fresh, cold drinking water. For babies under 6 months, use freshly boiled and cooled water.
• Empty contents of one sachet into 200mL cup of water and stirr until the hydralyte powder has dissolved.
• Sip slowly and frequently while symptomes persist
• Discard unused solution after 2 hours or 24 hours if refrigerated
• Do not mix Hydralyte with cordial, fruit juice, soft or sport drinks.
